Pro Liberi – For the Children.
It’s a phrase much used by our whingey whiney crowd and it used a lot to protect them from the risks of today. Sadly, it does not prepare them for the future. One day in court ‘Well they are only children so we cannot do anything.’ Two weeks later and a birthday has passed and it’s ‘Off to jail with them. Hardened criminal.’ but the worst thing in my view is the incessant desire to protect them. No competitions, no coming last and no upset feelings then when they hit the real world they discover the bitter truth. Life is hard, life is competitive and they have not been prepared for it.
The children are our legacy on this planet. Our future and they need to be nurtured and taught not wrapped in cotton wool. They, after all, will be looking after us in our old age. Right now I wouldn’t trust most of them to look after a garden full of weeds. It is a tragedy what is being done to them now.
We need to change our short term view on things and actually prepare for the future. That will be done through our children who grow up and take us on the next steps of our species. Their children will then take the baton when they grow up. That is the way to the future. Not what we are doing now just looking at immediate and short term issues.
I realised this not long ago when I had an epiphany after a discussion on Gordon Brown’s actions while in power with a relative.
We have been indoctrinated and are incapable of reasoning for ourselves.
Reasoning is the single major difference between us and most other animals on this planet. That and the addition of opposable thumbs gave us domination of the life on this planet. I see this as a major issue. Without reasoning we are too thick to do what is best for us and our species.
It would not be too much of a problem if our elected government was competent but they are not. Currently being corrupt and selfish. Every action is a short term action to secure or enhance their positions or to get more from the trough at which they feed.
This website is going to point out a few facts we should be aware of regarding our place on this planet and what needs to be done to advance our species. Then it is going to point out how stupid we and our politicians are looking solely at the short term until we get the message.
Alternatively it will point out to future generations, perhaps not remotely human, that not all of us were programmed and were silent.
