Maybe it is me but I look at this new device called an OnPlug. It is designed as a cut off aid for systems such as TVs to reduce their standby levels to zero.

It is claimed to be the simpliest such device which means there are more like that out there.

Personally, I would just use the off switch on the socket. Cuts power to zero every time. Doesn’t cost any more and, anything with a light on it must use some power, uses no power at all when not in use.

We seem to be going mad. We do not need a technological solution to everything. Somethings are best left as simple as they are. It does help explain though why we are all up to our armpits in debt and we all have a house full of tat.

It seems that my search for a modern toilet has gone down the pan.

Instead of finding a tiolet that analyses your waste and monitors your health at a price we can all afford I find this. Toilet games.

What is the betting that these will make it into pubs and clubs and become affordable while the health monitors remain the expensive and exclusive.

And we wonder why we seem to be stalling as a society?

Terrorists are using cameras fitted to suicide bombers coupled with radios to guide them to the best targets. Obviously having IQs normally associated with microscopic pond life they are unable to pick the best targets themselves. This way the leaders get the dumb ones to carry the bombs and be the martyrs while they can be the ‘mastermind’ on the CV, if telling idiots to go and blow themselves up in a cafe need to be lead by masterminds.

It’s the poor mans Predator. Not as accurate, but just as lethal and absolutely no collateral damage. Everyone that is killed or injured has been chosen by Allah.

It seems that despite being concerned about labours intrusive surveillance state our useless leader Cameron now thinks it is a good idea now he has reviewed the requirements. So they are still keeping the bit where our phone and IS providers are picking up the tab, which will be passed to us and still keeping the database. So the only part really being scrapped is the id database and we all know it will end up as a drivers licence and passport rather than an id card. An id card is just so Stalinist.

The old boss, same as the new boss but not as icky and yet another promise cancelled. No wonder politicians are so hated. They seem to be able to lie and lie and get away with it time after time after time.

I’ve sharpened all my sporks. The sleeping giant cannot last forever especially as Cameron is currently sticking pins in them under the guise of ‘massive cuts’. It won’t be long before we see some of this…

There is still money to be made chasing after the global warming scam. Our government, and others, have commited a fortune and the future of our electricity supply on wind farms. I suspect they measured the hot air in Westminister and assumed that was replicated all over the country. If so that would certainly have solved our energy issues for the next 100 years.

Anyway, we have commited a fortune on wind power in the UK. Complaints and concerns have been made about the turbines killing birds, causing radar shadows, the low frequency hums and the fact they need electricity to work. All in all some serious problems.

Along comes Windstalk. A wind collection device like no other. It uses stalks which are moved by the wind to generate the electricity.

This design removes most of the issues that we have with turbines. For one thing there are no blades to cut birds up or confuse our radar system. They probably won’t hum but I would guess they would still make whistling noises and I suspect they won’t produce any more power than turbines and probably much less although they won’t need power to run.

I think I should be looking at getting my hands on some of this money being thrown at *cough* scientists. I like kites so may do some research with those at the weekend with my apprentices, the kids. A nice tax write off at least.

I’m a bit apprehensive about DARPAs new role. It sounds like it is moving to support big brother under the guise of looking for terrorists. No change there then for big government.

Although I suppose it was inevitable. DARPA has a good reputation as an innovator and it certainly has the brains in the ranks.

Fingers crossed that when this project is complete that they get back to innovating progress and less on politics. Although I see the next phase as widening the scope of the searches and looking for terrorists in the general public which will be a bit of a problem for the US as it seems that being a patriot and a supporter of the consitution already mark you down as a terrorist. Ooops. Own goal there.

Over here in the UK it is much easier. Everyone is deemed to be a terrorist unless they are Lib/Dem/Con politicians, MI5 or Plod. Makes life much easier on deciding to pull the trigger or not. Not like our guys need to apply toomuch thinking there anyway. No repercussions.

Well just went online to order a new graphics card from Overclockers. A well nown hardware provider. At the checkout stage I entered my card number and was given a new protection offer from my credit card provider Tesco. It was a choice I suppose. I could place my order or not. All it needed was me to send my card number and all my supporting personal information in one packet across the web. Unfortunately, I needed the order so had to go ahead.

Apparently, it protects us. You have to laugh. At least now I understand why card fraud is down and identity theft is up.

Of course I’ll never remember the password. I tried a couple but it seems ‘stopwastingmyfuckingtime1′ doesn’t have a single digit or a single numeric in it. Can’t remember what worked.

So much for customer choice. The choice is do what we want or don’t use our card. The delivery address was the same as the card address and I’ve ordered before using the same card. Which I won’t be able to use now because I don’t now the password.

I’m actually thinking that the IT development departments at these places now spend all day writing code just to screw up our experiences. Of course all the basics are done now so they have to find something to do. I can see it now ‘Boss, I know it works great but lets adjust this and make them do this now. I’m bored. We can even introduce bugs which we can fix. I love my job.’

I’m all for making things safer but can someone explain to me the point of making bullets and bombs safer in warfare. Variable bombs? Can’t we just use the different size ones we already have. It’s almost as if we don’t want to win any wars we have nowadays. Talk about giving up before we even start. What sort of war do we want to be in? Handbags at dawn? Some sort of happy slapping contest? Perhaps not. Someone may cry if they get hurt in a happy slapping incident.

It seems to me that the only group extending the lethality of their weapons and who are actually willing to use them is Plod. Against their own unarmed citizens of course.

Perhaps this is why we are seen as an easy target now. The West will never do anything to defend its own citizens any longer. Why can blame these nutters out there for attacking us all over the globe? Why do you think the baddies want to develop a nuclear bomb? They feel confident they can attack a proxy with no real response with the current dead heads in charge. First we won’t know who it is then we need to prove it to the UN and the rest of the world. Then their leaders will be arrested, the country will be fined and get a slap on the wrist. In the meantime Israel and Palestine will be glowing and the true horror of the nuclear age will be visible for all.

Bring back the old ways. A disproportionate response shows that we mean what we say, we will punish attacks on us and persecute the wars with the tools that we have. After all that is what they were developed for. Then we could have a safer world.

So instead of safer bombs. Lets make them less able to maim but more likely to kill and start using them as responses and ignore these whingey whiney liberal wimps who talk about proportionate responses. They are traitors, screw them.

Well it seems that Mexico is now turning into more of a surveillance state than the US. At least now I understand why so many of them are risking death to escape to the US. I used to believe it was because there was a better standard of living in the US. Now it looks like they are running to escape Big Amigo.

Leon — one of the largest cities in Mexico, is being fitted with Iris scanners with a laughable aim of making it the most secure city in the World with Fraud completely eradicated. Criminals Iris scans will be loaded into the system and they can be tracked wherever they go. Limiting their access to certain areas and alerting Plod to their whereabouts. Of course, ordinary people will also be picked up and the hope is that they will sign up voluntarily to be <strike>tagged like animals</strike> scanned where they can be validated and have the ‘benefit’ of not needing to carry a bank card or ID. The implied threat for those that don’t sign up is ‘Opting out actually puts more of a flag on you than just being part of the system’ Read that as you will be stopped at every door and checkout until we validate your ID and Plod will pull you over every ten minutes until you give in. Make like you are resisting and suddenly you will find you do have a criminal record, if you live.

There are so many things wrong here that it will be interesting to watch. People being scanned to pay for others drinks, people being denied access to services because they have a criminal record and people breaking in your home when the system detects you are just entering your local restaurant for a meal and someone informs the local crooks. However, regardless of the outcome you can be sure that controlling eyes in other countries will be watching this social experiment. If it succeeds then it will be rolled out here soon enough. If it fails then it will be rolled out here with a few minor mods that the Mexicans got wrong. It will make the the old USSR, China, North Korea and New Labour look like amateurs and you can be sure they will be quick to pick up this technology, for security purposes of course.

The manufacturers claim that with the advance in technology no one can fool the system with dead eyes which is fair enough. Interestingly enough though by hiding your eyes you can avoid the system completely. How useful is ‘I was mugged and the scanners couldn’t identify the assailant’. Plus I keep hearing how there are frauds over the internet worth billions and they are increasing with real life fraudulent transactions reducing. How does it stop that?

In addition once the Iris scanning is the subjugation tool of choice then there will be many bright young minds turned into cracking the system. False eyes will be created and contact lenses, glasses etc. will be produced to counteract them. Everyone knows that once cracked, and it doesn’t take long, it takes a lot longer to find a fix and then apply that fix to every scanner out there. I claim Blair’s Iris scans. Let us see what trouble I can get him into. In the meantime a can of spraypaint should be fine.

Personally, if I lived in Leon I would be making my move now. Leon is turning into the biggest open prison on the planet. As well as this the US border looks like it will be tightening up and you may leave it too late.
