Hyperon has the designs for small cheep nuclear power generators http://www.hyperionpowergeneration.com/index.html which make sense to be deployed all over the country - and they don't become a blot on the landscape like wind generators and solar units. A few years ago I took some friends up to the Solar Oven at Font-Romeu. They were amazed that most of the technicians there were more interested in the experiments than trying to talk people into changing to solar energy. If the west continues in this direction it will descend beyond the third world - not a place I would want to live in.
