As you say, removing the greenies and their political hangers on should stop some of this fear mongering. It won't remove all because governments require fear in the population for control. This whole scare story is just that because there are many ways of increasing food production - hydroponics being one of them. Unfortunately, if governments get involved - especially the present one in the UK - then knee jerk reactions will follow, to the detriment of all.
