Here is our wonderful government generating laws on a daily basis to control our every move and yet it appears that Plod doesn’t even have to use them when it comes to shutting down websites as the ISPs bend us over and let Plod have their way by disconnecting us when Plod asks. Because they are not using the law they don’t need to record the number of sites they have shut down. Read the story here.
No appeal, no discussion, just Plod deciding they don’t like a site and the ISP shuts it down for them.
It’s the reason I’ll be moving all my hosting abroad when I can get organised. At least that way Plod will have to actually do some work to get them removed in situations they actually can.

Lord T,
Moving your hosting abroad is the most sensible thing you can do. I know of several sites that have already moved because of this.
Lord T the link doesn’t work…………by the way what does Lord T stand for if you don’t mind me asking? curiosity has got the better of me.
Ivan,
I’ve been looking at it for a while but I have several sites hosted and it will take some planning. It will be early next year before I start.
TEV,
Thank you for that. For some reason it sometimes adds that at the front. I suspect it is a feature as it could be useful. I’ve fixed it now. As a reward I’ll EMail you what Lord T stands for once you have returned the NDA.
Isn’t that interesting – they had a “discussion”, we slapped them down about their police state tactics and they go ahead and do it anyway. Where’s the democratic state?
James,
It’s long gone. In these situations there is nothing that you can do.
NDA?……………
TEV,
As Carrie Prejean will tell you an NDA is a Non Disclosure Agreement.
oh yes of course……..Ok here we go.
I promise not to say nothing to anyone guv….
TEV,
Thanks, that is ideal.
Well, the name came about from my old gaming days. In our group the best at something was a Lord and I was xxx, Lord Destroyer of Terra. When I was looking for a pseudonym I thought of my old nickname Lord xxx but thought that would be easily linked to my old online persona so I shortened it to Lord T via a simplistic route. One person who was very close to me guessed who it was straight away even from that.
Destroyer of Terra? Terrarist?
Close. It was due to my tendency to wipe out everything before achieving the objective. It was an objective I set myself. As it was space based you had a species and I was human, from Terra.
