What is the definition of insanity?

What is it with government and the need to force their morals on us?

In the 1920s there was prohibition in the US. Everyone recognises it as a dismal failure and moonshiners all over the US were churning out sub standard booze at a vast profit while law enforcement fought a losing battle against the gangs that were drawn to the profits in illicit booze.

How could they really compete with people that could make their illicit booze at home? After all it is really easy to do. People have been doing it for centuries.

Then along came the drugs war. Trillions of pounds have been spent over the years in a futile attempt to stop the distribution of illegal drugs in the UK. Now considering we are an island you would think it would be easier but sadly, nope, that is not the case. Currently the game is still in play but I think with the price of drugs at an all time low and anybody that wants some being able to get it we can give a rough score at this time.

Now remind me if I am wrong but there seems to be a global war on drugs with the US taking pole driving position and as well as spending on a specialist drug enforcement agency they also redirect military and police resources to the task. So they must being doing better then? Well Nope. Score so far;

Stoned US people : 1 : Highly organised and well armed anti drug force including the military : 0

Oh, so what about the rest of the world fighting this war on drugs. Where are they;

Stoned Canadians : 1 : Highly organised and well armed anti drug force : 0
Stoned Germans : 1 : Highly organised and well armed anti drug force : 0
Stoned French : 1 : Highly organised and well armed anti drug force : 0
Stoned Italians : 1 : Highly organised and well armed anti drug force : 0
Stoned Spaniards : 1 : Highly organised and well armed anti drug force : 0

But these are all western countries, basically soft on these drug lords so it’s no surprise that they are losing. Let’s have a look at some less liberal countries. Countries that have little or no respect for life and execute the drug dealers and even the drug users.

Stoned Chinese: 1 : Highly organised and well armed anti drug force : 0
Stoned Singaporeans : 1 : Highly organised and well armed anti drug force : 0

Now I’m no statistician but I think I see a pattern here. Well, before my brain hurts we will just skip over it for the moment. Again, how can you control something that you can grow or make at home. Things that were made over hundreds of years where we did not have anything like the technology we do now and everyone of us can have the equipment and means to make our own.

So what about the UKs prohibition on firearms, surely that is going well. Well not according to the crime statistics and the public. Guns seem to be easy to get if you have the right contacts and people and property all over the country seem to be getting lead injections.

Illegal gun owners : 1 : Highly organised and well armed, and willing to use them, plod : 0

So it seems that as a policy trying to stop people getting what they want seems to be on a hiding to nothing. People either make their own, or get it smuggled in. There are instructions on making your own using standard pipe bought in a hardware store. Remember that people in Pakistan are producing any weapon you want on old style lathes and mills. People in prison even manage to make firearms and obtain drugs and booze. If they can’t control these things in prisons then how can they hope to control them outside.

So the latest we have here is they want to ban fatty foods and cheap alcohol. I can see how well that will go with every house having a cooker and buckets for cheap beer and alcohol making.

So search the web for moonshine, beer and wine recipes. Instructions on building your own firearms, including from standard pipe, courtesy of a man, Phil Luty, who was made an example of by our government. Recipes for chocolate cake and how to make hamburgers should be next on your list as they will be next.

I would add the files or links myself but under the Terrorism Act 2000 it is illegal for me to do so for the 9mm SMG. Soon it will be illegal to supply recipes on moonshine and chocolate chip cookies so don’t want to get raided because the law changes and I have links here. The joys of living in a free country.

On the plus side the drug lords and their ilk spend the money on high class prostitutes, fast, non PC cars, nice homes and yachts. At least the money goes to good use. If our government was the one spending it then it would just be wasted.  I’m leaning towards leaving the criminals with the money.  I’ll feel better about the whole thing for one and being taxed by a criminal is cheaper than being taxed by our government.

So, back to the titleof the post, what is the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
