Well again it seems that cockroaches are so adaptable that they are probably going to be the only thing left on this planet when everything else is gone.
This latest study apparently shows that cockroaches are going to be one of the few survivors from global warming. Why global warming is so special I don’t know seeing as even at its worse case it would not change the climate so much.
For years we have heard that cockroaches are the ultimate survivors and that they can survive in hot and cold environments, the can survive high levels of radiation (a very useful trick) and can remain active even after a month without food and they can go 45 minutes without air.
There are several species of cockroaches. The world’s largest is the Australian giant burrowing cockroach, which can reach 9 centimetres (3.5 in) in length and weigh more than 30 grams (1.1 oz).
So a few millennia, after we have been wiped out by socialist health care coupled with cap and trade and global warming, cockroaches will continue to evolve and eventually they would evolve the equivalent of opposing thumbs. From there the world will be their oyster and their society means that they would progress and not hit the issues that humans have over time. (I wrote a short story based on this.)
