Positive thinking improves health

Here is an interesting study.  It seems that women who are optimistic live longer.   Its always been said that there is power in positive thinking and I have always believed it. I’ve tried to think positive no matter what happens and its the reason I actually think that our species has a future while all around me see only the short term. I’m always trying to see the bright side of life and see a bright future.

It isn’t just women though as optimism also has the same effect on men so why is it that women end up living longer than men in general?   Are women more optimistic than men?    From my exposure to women I think that women are no more optimistic than men.  They are just optimistic about different things than men and those things are rarely compatible although sometimes they are.   In general men think about material things like cars and boats and women think about children and nests.

As time goes on women still think of keeping the nest just right and the kids and grandkids while men suddenly find they don’t have the yacht or the Aston in the drive and the women are always busy with others.  We become pessimistic grumpy old sods while women are optimistic that it is the beginning of the end, we don’t have long to go.   So although until that point we have kept up with women in positive energy reality hits hard and its rapidly downhill after that until we pop off leaving the women ecstatic that they no longer have to put up with us and have the money as well.  Win win for them.

No wonder women live longer than men.  I think we should bring back the tradition of burning our women on our funeral pyres.  That will knock the optimism out of them.
