Face recognition software

It seems to be getting better daily.    Read here about the latest advances in facial recognition.

Even just a couple of years ago facial recognition required masses of computer power to perform the number crunching necessary.    With advances in software, the algorithms, computer hardware and camera technology it won’t be long before all the cameras are interconnected and will record our every movement similar to what they do with our cars via ANPR.    That means they will be able to record your entire trip from your house down the roads to where you par your car and then which shops or houses you visit and when you return.

Then a few years later when you get your 6 AM raid because you accidentally dropped a bit of lint and they start waterboarding you asking you about Mr X who just happened to be at the same shop at the same time you had better have a good memory.   After all their data won’t be wrong.

At the moment they won’t have the coverage, plus people hear hats and hoodies (Note to self : need ski mask) so they won’t have this level of surveillance outside London, Manchester, Bristol or similar.   But I can envisage a time when hats etc. will be banned and cameras will cover the land.

It really is starting to shape up into a society that Stalin would be envious of.   Russia might have worked if he had had the technology.  Not because it would have made that type of society work but because there would have been nowhere the dissidents could have hidden from Stalins goons and they would have wiped out dissent so only the sheeple were left.

Hard to believe where we have gone in 12 short years.   Who would have believed it even 12 years ago?

Anyway, pop quiz time.    What are the benefits of facial recognition software?    The answer is only one thing.   To identify terrorists and bad guys.     Now ask yourself, who says who is in those categories?    Our government is the answer to that.   Now remember that the US has put the following statement out

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), The Missouri Militia Report and Virginia’s Homegrown Terrorism Report have unleashed an attack designed to demonize and dehumanize opponents of tyranny. The unclassified lists of those viewed as potential threats and terrorists includes opponents of abortion, groups opposed to illegal immigration, third-party political supporters, supporters of the Second Amendment, those stockpiling food, water, and ammunition, constitutionalists, veterans, critics of the United Nations and One World Government, and anyone fitting the “Right-Wing Extremist” profile.

The UK will soon follow and soon, unless you are particularly dumb and there are quite a few dumb people in the UK, you too will fit on that list to be monitored.   I’m probably already there.
