The airframes can still be aerodynamic and still be in separate modules.  It just needs a bit of lateral thinking.   I would imagine that a breakthrough in material or a new technology would kick start a new method.  Give them time.   I may even design one myself for my new stealth super bomber which I am developing for the revolution.</description>
