I may be a bit dim but I find this article on drug enforcement to be a bit illogical.
It appears to be saying that we should not increase our grip on drug enforcement because it will make users look around the marketplace to get their drugs and thus drive down the price of drugs. Exactly what we don’t want as the low cost would encourage people to start taking drugs. You shouldn’t relax our stance on drugs either, and for exactly the same reason. Does this mean we have the drugs problem in hand?
Well, the answer must be Yes, just look at the drugs problem in the UK.
Users can get what they want at prices they can afford. Consumer is doing well.
Dealers and suppliers are getting a very good ROI, much more than any other business. Supply chain doing well.
Plod get massive funding from the sleepy taxpayers of the UK to set up a system that keeps people off the dole. Government has increased funding and jobs.
Society in general doesn’t really care. Even when plod or the dealers get shot up. Although we always say ‘That’s bad’ and then forget it 10 seconds later.
Criminals keep killing other criminals to increase their share of the market and we thought business was cut throat. This keep unemployment down when your patch is taken over.
Personally from what I can see I think we should not make drugs legal. Sorry. I think we should just stop enforcing the law on it. We can get rid of a chunk of useless plod. Meanwhile the illegal end can remain. Less plod means the price will come down even more as more come into the market. Taxes would reduce…. ROFL. OK we wouldn’t do that but we won’t get tax on drugs but we were not getting that before anyway, in fact we were spending on it. The tax we still steal to pay for plod can remain and we actually end up better off.
How about that for thinking outside the box.
Tomorrow, Why our drug dealing supply chain should start dealing in booze and cigarettes. Massive savings to the taxpayers and a fuck you to our robbing government.
