I’ve always been impressed by the tests that ask you 50 questions, you have to select from 5 answers for each question and then give you a fairly accurate profile of you. Mine always seem to be so close I think that the person knows me. Of course interpreting the results is difficult and one or two anomalies were seen.
Clearly a lot of work has gone into this since I first met them and they either asked a lot more or gave your aptitude in programming only for example. The profiles tended to be more general and again interpreting the results brought up a couple of anomalies.
Clearly the government has made significant advancements with this process in the last few years. Now you can tick one box out of three and the meaning of 55 million people is plain. So if you select;
- Labour – We love you Gordo and we love what you are doing keep going.
- Conservative – It’s a protest vote over the economy. Keep going and work on the economy.
- Lib Dems – It’s a protest vote over those pesky expenses. Keep going and do what you normally do. We will forget soon.
Funny. It seems interpretation has gone downhill since I last looked. I’m convinced that at least 99.999% of those that ticked those boxes didn’t mean that.
I think the court of public opinion has spoken and it wasn’t that long ago that it was acceptable that the rule of law was ignored for the court of public opinion. It seems that, as usual, none of these courts apply to our lords and masters.
We clearly need a new way to manage our democracy. No I don’t mean removing Gordo feet first but by not letting them fiddling with it until they manage to hide their entire goings on. I really want something that introduces transparency and accountability and we have the technology now to implement such a system. Bring our government screaming and kicking into the 22nd century. Yet with very few changes to the way it actually works. At least at first.
And talking of psychometric tests. It would be really interesting seeing how Gordo would do on one. I’m sure that if he did they would be around in their white coats faster than a Labour politician to a free drinks party.
